Christian Gavard Bursary

Christian Gavard was an avid supporter of all aspects of the performing arts. He was a musician, actor, writer, and director. His passion in encouraging people to explore their abilities in music, theatre, or playing in a band was a key element of his personality and an integral aspect of his legacy. Christian motivated and mentored  numerous friends and colleagues in pursuit of their artistic goals. As a teacher, he had a genuine interest in each individual student, he listened to their stories, he supported their aspirations, and he challenged them to become active participants in their own lives. 

The partnership with the “Island Rock Camp”, while taking care to mention the inspiring leadership of Andrew and Nikki Waite, allows us to take advantage of this ideal opportunity to provide young students with the necessary funds to attend the camp. We are very proud that the Christian Gavard Scholarship is used to allow several young people to be part of this musical initiative.

The Christian Gavard Bursaries work with PEI Public schools in order to find students with a particular interest in music, and a need for financial assistance to attend educational camps.

Christian Gavard était un fervent partisan de tous les aspects des arts du spectacle. Il était musicien, acteur, écrivain et réalisateur. Sa passion pour encourager les gens à explorer leurs capacités en musique, en théâtre ou en jouant dans un groupe était un élément clé de sa personnalité et un aspect intégral de son héritage. Christian a motivé et encadré de nombreux amis et collègues dans la poursuite de leurs objectifs artistiques. En tant qu’enseignant, il s’intéressait vraiment à chaque élève, il écoutait leurs histoires, il soutenait leurs aspirations et il les mettait au défi de devenir des participants actifs dans leur propre vie.

Le partenariat avec le “Island Rock Camp”, tout en prenant le soin de bien mentionner le leadership inspirant d’Andrew et Nikki Waite, nous permet de profiter de cette occasion idéale de fournir à des jeunes étudiants les fonds nécessaires pour assister au camp. Nous sommes très fiers à ce que la bourse Christian Gavard serve à permettre à plusieurs jeunes de faire partie de cette initiative musicale.
